Terms of Service

By creating an account, browsing, or transacting on Skoodocs (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, to create an account. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

You're responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@skoodocs.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

Accounts are personal and non-transferable. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with or without notice when the breach is serious (for example, fraud, copyright violation, or threats to other users).

You retain ownership of any document you upload (your "Content"). By uploading, you grant Skoodocs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This licence ends when you delete the Content, except for copies needed to fulfil completed transactions and to comply with legal obligations.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to share every document you upload, that the Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, and that uploading and selling it does not breach any agreement with your institution, employer, or anyone else.

We do not screen Content before it appears on the Service, but we may remove or restrict any Content that we believe (in our reasonable judgement) violates these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of others.

Skoodocs is a study aid, not a substitute for your own work. Using purchased material to commit plagiarism, cheat on exams, or otherwise breach your institution's academic-integrity policies is your responsibility, not ours.

Sellers must not upload material that contains live exam questions, unapproved answer keys for currently-administered assessments, or any content their institution has expressly forbidden from being shared. We will remove and may permanently ban accounts that do.

Buyers pay the price set by the seller at the time of purchase, plus any applicable taxes. All payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store payment-card details.

Sellers receive up to 80% of the gross sale price from each sale (Stripe processing fees are covered by Skoodocs, not deducted from seller earnings), paid out via Stripe Connect to the bank account they provide. The remainder covers hosting, fraud protection, and platform operations. Specific fee rates and current commission schedules are shown in your earnings dashboard.

Refunds are at our discretion. We generally grant refunds for documents that are materially mis-described, corrupted, or fraudulently re-uploaded by someone other than the original author, provided you contact us within 24 hours of purchase. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting support may result in account suspension.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• —Upload material you didn't create or don't have permission to share, including textbook chapters, publisher materials, or other students' work without consent.
• —Submit material that violates academic-integrity rules at your institution, or that is intended to facilitate cheating on a live exam.
• —Harvest, scrape, or mirror the Service's content for commercial use.
• —Reverse-engineer or attempt to disrupt the Service.
• —Misrepresent yourself or impersonate another user, institution, or company.
• —Upload anything unlawful, defamatory, abusive, harassing, sexually explicit, or hateful.

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid DMCA and equivalent international takedown notices. To submit a notice, email dmca@skoodocs.com with: a description of the copyrighted work, the URL of the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated. If you believe Content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address.

You may close your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, prolonged inactivity, or as required by law. On termination, your access to the Service ends immediately, but transactions completed before termination, payout obligations, and provisions that by their nature should survive (including content licences for documents already sold, indemnity, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue in effect.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that any document is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your particular course or exam. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skoodocs disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skoodocs and its directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.

You agree to indemnify and hold Skoodocs harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Skoodocs is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and Skoodocs agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally before initiating any legal action; if that fails, disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email and on the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
